This is the third of the large sheep paintings I've worked on this year. Two have sold and this one currently hangs in my home. The Bible mentions sheep many times and I've tried to express the spiritual symbolism and connection they have to us humans. "We all like sheep have gone astray . . . ". "I know my sheep. . . .". "The Lord is my shepherd . . .".
These sheep are pastured at the Tipton Haynes Farm in Johnson City, TN. This historical site welcomes visitors and school outings on a regular basis. They have been very kind to allow us artists access in so as to paint the grounds and sheep. Thank you.
